Life, a miracle of the universe, appeared approximately four billion years ago, humans only 200.000 years ago. Yet, we have succeeded in destroying the balance essential to the life. In only app. 50 years, in a single human lifetime, the environment has been more radically changed than by all previous generations of humanity (Home). Scientists and society still believe that today there are still solutions out there that have to be implemented. A lot of rules in the area of environmental protection and nature conservation have the origin in the EU law. The EU is a leading organisation in the world in emphasizing the care for the environment. No other country or continent is taking such sincere care for the environment. Yet, there are lots of bad practices, particularly on the national level, of performing and implementing environmental rules in practice.
